Kingston police arrest local man in August assault on Broadway

KINGSTON — Police in Kingston arrested Deandre D. Green, 27, of Kingston and charged him with multiple felonies on Aug. 22 in relation to an alleged assault earlier in the month.

Green faces charges including two counts of felony assault in the first degree, felony assault in the second degree, and felony criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Authorities allege that on Aug. 13, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Green assaulted a 19-year-old victim on Broadway between Elmendorf Street and East St. James Street.

Police said Green used a sharp bladed weapon to cut the victim’s head, neck and face.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for his wounds.

An investigation was conducted by the Kingston Police Department, assisted by the Town of Ulster Police.

Green was indicted by an Ulster County Grand Jury and a County Court Warrant was issued prior to his arrest.

After being taken into custody, Green was processed and sent to Ulster County Jail.

He was subsequently arraigned in Ulster County Court and remanded without bail.

The case remains an active and ongoing criminal investigation.
