St. Johnsbury woman charged with theft after using stolen debit card

ST. JOHNSBURY — A 38-year-old woman has been charged with false pretenses and petit larceny after allegedly stealing a wallet and using the victim’s debit card at local businesses.

Vermont State Police were notified July 19 of a wallet theft.

The victim, Jeffrey Young, 62, of St. Johnsbury, reported several hundred dollars missing from his checking account after his debit card was used at local businesses.

Investigation revealed that Krystal Taylor of St. Johnsbury had stolen the wallet and used the debit card, police said.

Troopers made contact with Taylor on Aug. 28 and issued her a citation to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court-Criminal Division on Oct. 20 at 8:30 a.m.
