JAMESTOWN — Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon responded to a northside address for a report of a burglary in progress on Aug. 23 at about 4 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers located an open window, which was believed to be the point of entry.
While checking the remainder of the exterior, one subject was seen exiting the building through a broken window.
After a brief foot pursuit and struggle, officers took 48-year-old Robert B. Howard Jr. into custody.
After an investigation, it was found that Robert damaged over $7,100 worth of property inside.
Robert also possessed tools on his person, which were used in the commission of the burglary.
Robert is being charged with burglary in the 3rd degree, criminal possession of burglar’s tools, criminal mischief in the 2nd degree, and resisting arrest.
Robert was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and held pending arraignment.
