Man arrested in assault, vehicle damage incident in St. Johnsbury

ST. JOHNSBURY — Vermont State Police arrested a 31-year-old St. Johnsbury man Monday morning following a reported fight and vehicle damage incident.

Adam Belliveau was charged with simple assault and unlawful mischief after an incident involving 65-year-old Shaun Whitcher of Lyndon.

Troopers responded to a report of a fight in progress at approximately 9:28 a.m. Aug. 19.

Police spoke with Whitcher and several witnesses at the scene.

Investigation revealed that Belliveau had assaulted Whitcher and damaged Whitcher’s vehicle before leaving the area.

Troopers located Belliveau in the surrounding area shortly after the incident.

Belliveau was arrested and processed at the Vermont State Police St. Johnsbury Barracks.

He was issued a citation to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court Criminal Division on Aug. 20 at 12:30 p.m.
