PENN YAN — Edward F. Galvin III, 38, of Newark, was arrested by Penn Yan Police following a complaint of three males physically fighting at the boat launch.
During the investigation, Galvin provided officers with a false name and was in possession of an open container of alcohol.
When confronted by police, Galvin threw a bicycle at officers and attempted to flee on foot.
Galvin was taken into custody following a short foot pursuit and was subsequently charged with obstruction of governmental administration, criminal mischief in the fourth degree, false personation and open container of alcohol in a village park.
Galvin was processed at the police department and later released on an appearance ticket to Penn Yan Village Court where he will answer to the charges at a later date.
