Mamadou A. Balde was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third and fifth degrees.
Mamadou O. Diallo, 28, of St. Albans, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third and fifth degrees, unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle in the third degree, obstructing governmental administration in the second degree and numerous vehicle and traffic law violations.
Troopers attempted to stop a vehicle traveling northbound on Interstate 787 in Menands at about 12:29 a.m. for a vehicle and traffic law violation.
The vehicle, driven by Diallo, failed to comply and a pursuit was initiated.
Diallo continued to operate the vehicle recklessly for approximately two miles before coming to a stop.
Diallo was taken into custody and A. Bah, H. Bah and Balde were identified as passengers in the vehicle.
Further investigation led to the seizure of a controlled substance that later field-tested positive for cocaine, packaged in multiple individual plastic bags from within the vehicle.
All individuals were arrested and transported to State Police Latham for processing.
They were then turned over to the Albany County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
