CANTON — New York State Police Troop B Computer Crime Unit arrested Robert S. Bowen, 45, of Canton, on Aug. 5 on multiple charges related to child sexual abuse material.
Bowen faces charges of promoting a sexual performance by a child-sexually motivated, possessing a sexual performance by a child, obscenity third, use of a child in a sexual performance-sexually motivated, endangering the welfare of a child, and disseminating indecent material to minors first.
The investigation revealed that Bowen was sending and receiving images of child sexual abuse material.
He was arrested and transported to State Police Canton for processing.
Bowen was arraigned in the Town of Canton Court and was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail, $200,000 secured bond, or $500,000 partially secured bond.
His next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 25 at 1:30 p.m. in the Town of Canton Court.
The investigation is ongoing.
