3 arrested after fight outside Jamestown bar injures officer

JAMESTOWN — Three people were arrested early Saturday morning after a fight outside a downtown bar that resulted in an officer being injured.

Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon responded to The Wine Cellar at 309 N. Main St. around 1:30 a.m. Aug. 3 for a report of a fight.

Upon arrival, officers found several people fighting outside the bar and began separating individuals to disperse the growing crowd.

During the incident, Cesar Rodriguez, 28, of Dunkirk, shoved an officer and was given multiple commands to back away, police said.

Rodriguez again shoved the officer, prompting police to attempt to take him into custody.

A brief struggle ensued and Rodriguez was arrested while the crowd began surrounding officers.

Officers deployed pepper spray to disperse the crowd.

While escorting Rodriguez to a patrol car, Diondra Drayton, 22, of Jamestown, pointed her own pepper spray at officers and threatened to spray them, police said.

Drayton was taken into custody.

Fighting resumed during this time, and while officers attempted to separate individuals, Lisandra Rodriguez, 32, of Dunkirk, threw a punch at an officer, hitting them in the eye and causing physical injury.

Officers attempted to arrest Lisandra Rodriguez while other people tried to pull officers away.

She was eventually taken into custody.

All three suspects were transported to the city jail.

Cesar Rodriguez is charged with obstructing governmental administration in the second degree and resisting arrest.

Drayton is charged with menacing in the second degree.

Lisandra Rodriguez is charged with assault in the second degree on a police officer.

Due to New York state bail reform, Cesar Rodriguez and Drayton were released on appearance tickets.

Lisandra Rodriguez is being held in the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment.

The Jamestown Police Department was assisted by the Ellicottville Police Department, New York State Police and Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
