HORNELL — The Hornell Police Department executed a search warrant at a business located at 9 Canisteo Square shortly after 4 p.m. July 24.
The search warrant was issued by Hornell City Court Judge Dave Coddington.
The search resulted in the discovery of over 20 pounds of marijuana, a large assortment of edible products containing concentrated cannabis, and other psychedelic drugs.
Nicholas J. Morris, 47, the operator of the storefront, was arrested and charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the First Degree, a Class D felony.
Morris was also charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, also a Class D felony.
Morris was arraigned in Steuben County CAP Court and released on his own recognizance.
Hornell City Codes Officers assisted at the scene and red-tagged the building due to the criminal activity.
A referral was made to the New York State Cannabis Control Board for further investigation.
The New York State Police assisted the Hornell Police Department in the investigation.
