Mayville traffic stop yields drug arrest, methamphetamine seizure

MAYVILLE — A traffic stop Tuesday led to a seizure of narcotics and the arrest of one individual in the Village of Mayville.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Narcotics Investigator observed Savannah Dorsey-Carter, who is known to have a suspended license, operating a vehicle on Route 394 in the Town of Chautauqua.

The vehicle was then observed in the Dollar General parking lot and Dorsey-Carter was placed in custody after exiting the store.

A search of the vehicle and Dorsey-Carter’s person led to the seizure of 47.1 grams of methamphetamine, 8.5 grams of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia used for the sale and distribution of narcotics.

Dorsey-Carter was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd.

Dorsey-Carter also received traffic tickets for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd, Unlicensed Operation, No Insurance, Uninspected Vehicle, Unregistered Vehicle and Improper Plates.

Dorsey-Carter was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for the centralized arraignment program.
