Lewiston motorcyclist dies in head-on crash on Saunders Settlement Road

LEWISTON — A motorcyclist died Thursday night after a head-on collision with a car on Saunders Settlement Road.

Lewiston Police responded to the crash at 2273 Saunders Settlement Road at 8:56 p.m. July 17.

Officers found the motorcycle operator unresponsive and immediately began life-saving measures.

Sanborn Fire Department and Tri Community Ambulance took over care of the patient.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car driver was evaluated by EMS personnel and released.

Police said the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Saunders Settlement Road while the car was traveling westbound.

The car entered the eastbound lane where it collided with the motorcycle.

The car driver is cooperating with the investigation.

Names are being withheld pending family notifications.

The Lewiston Police Department Accident Investigation Unit is investigating the crash.

Lewiston Police were assisted by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, Niagara Falls Police, Sanborn Fire Department, Lewiston Fire Co. No. 2, and Tri Community Ambulance.
