FRANKLIN — A semi-truck hauling a manure tank nearly overturned and blocked both lanes of Vermont Route 236 on July 16 at 2:57 p.m.
Dennis Rodger, 68, of Montgomery, was driving a 2005 Freightliner Coronado when he exited a field onto the roadway near 3974 State Park Road.
Rodger did not swing the trailer axles wide enough for the rear trailer tires to clear a ditch and culvert separating the field from the roadway, according to Vermont State Police.
The truck and trailer subsequently almost completely overturned and blocked both lanes of Route 236.
Vermont State Police, Department of Motor Vehicles inspectors and Franklin Fire Department responded to the scene.
The vehicle was righted and driven from the scene.
The roadway was closed during the incident.
Rodger was wearing a seat belt and sustained no injuries.
The vehicle sustained minor cosmetic damage.
Weather conditions were clear and the road was dry at the time of the incident.
