DERBY — Community National Bank has been ranked as the number one bank in Vermont according to Forbes’ America’s Best Banks in Each State, published June 17, 2025.

Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to conduct interviews of approximately 26,000 U.S. citizens across all 50 states about financial institutions where they have maintained checking or savings accounts within the last three years.

Customers provided overall satisfaction scores and indicated whether they would recommend an institution to family and friends. They also answered detailed questions about satisfaction in key areas including trust, customer service, digital tools, quality of financial advice, and whether fees were transparent and reasonable.

Additionally, Statista gathered more than 500,000 publicly available text reviews and ratings about each bank between February 2022 and March 2025. This research accounted for 20 percent of each financial institution’s score, while surveys accounted for 80 percent.

Online-only banks and institutions with branches in more than 15 states were excluded from the survey. Companies pay no fee to participate or be selected for Forbes lists.

“I’m fortunate and grateful that I get to work every day with an incredible team of bankers who make this award possible,” said CEO and President Chris Caldwell. “We are proud to receive this designation as it is the recognition of all the good work we do together for our customers, our communities, and our shareholders.”
