HIGHGATE — Troopers from the Vermont State Police – St. Albans Barracks received information from U.S. Customs and Border Protection at approximately 7:59 p.m. July 13 that they had made contact with a male who had an active arrest warrant.
The male was identified as James Kennedy, 27, of Brandon.
His arrest warrant was for charges of DUI under the influence, DUI over the legal limit and vehicle operation with a suspended license.
Kennedy was located at the Welcome Center in Highgate and taken into custody for the warrant.
Kennedy was transported to Northwest State Correctional Facility in St. Albans where he was held on $50 bail.
Kennedy was issued a citation ordering him to appear before the Windham County Criminal Court on July 14 at 12:30 p.m. for the charges related to the warrant.
