Man arrested on warrant for endangering welfare of child in Yates County

YATES COUNTY — A 27-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding warrant for endangering the welfare of a child early Friday morning.

Max E. Barron was taken into custody by the Yates County Sheriff’s Office at 2:22 a.m. on State Route 14 at the Schuyler/Yates County line.

The Yates County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office stating they had a warrant subject in custody.

Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office transferred custody of Barron to a Yates County Sheriff’s deputy.

Barron had an active arrest warrant from the Town of Benton for the charge of endangering the welfare of a child.

He was transported to the Yates County Jail and held for centralized arraignment.
