LEROY — At approximately 9:00 a.m. Monday, the LeRoy Police Department received a report from a woman claiming there had been a shooting at a local establishment.
The woman sought shelter at a nearby church, where staff contacted 911.
Officers responded and secured the area.
After a thorough investigation, police confirmed that no shooting had occurred and there were no injuries.
Police said the woman appeared to be under the influence of drugs.
Her vehicle was located on Bacon Street, where officers discovered a significant amount of a white powdery substance.
With assistance from New York State Police, the substance was tested and secured.
The woman was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
The investigation remains ongoing, according to LeRoy Police.
