Bristol police arrest two in suspected prostitution ring

BRISTOL — Two men were arrested Thursday by the Bristol Police Department and the Connecticut State Police Statewide Organized Crime Investigative Task Force in connection with a suspected prostitution operation at a local business.

The investigation, which began in January after complaints about Aqua After Dark at 1235 Farmington Avenue, led to the arrests of Vincent Whiteley, 64, and David Henderson, 63, at 1 p.m. on charges of conspiracy at trafficking in persons and promoting prostitution, among other offenses.

According to the police, surveillance and undercover operations identified Whiteley and Henderson as the individuals controlling the establishment.

Whiteley faces charges of conspiracy at trafficking in persons and promoting prostitution in the second degree.

Henderson has been charged with promoting prostitution in the second degree, conspiracy at trafficking in persons, permitting prostitution, and trafficking in persons.

The two men were held at the Bristol Police Department on $250,000 cash surety bonds set by the court.

The Bristol Police Department thanks the Statewide Organized Crime Investigative Task Force and the community for their assistance in the investigation, which led to the success in apprehending the suspects.

The department remains committed to combating illegal prostitution operations within the city and encourages the public to report any related information.
