NEWPORT CENTER — Two Orleans county residents were injured following a crash in Newport Center yesterday.

The incident took place on Vermont Route 100 near Collins Mill Road at around 2:00 p.m.

Police say Tiffany Crandall, 41, of Charleston, was following a plow truck headed south when she attempted to pass the truck.

Bruce Santaw, 69, of Jay, was traveling north when he collided head-on with Crandall in the northbound lane.

Both drivers were removed from their vehicles and transported to North Country Hospital to be treated for what police describe as “non-life threatening injuries.”
