Homeowner fights back after attempted burglary in Orleans, suspect injured

ORLEANS — Police are investigating a break-in that occurred in Orleans yesterday.

The incident took place on South Street at around 9:10 p.m.

Police say two men forced their way inside the residence and a physical altercation ensued between the suspects and two people who were home at the time of the break-in.

Both men left in a dark-colored truck with an orange light bar over the cab.

The truck was also described as having a back rack and a toolbox.

One of the suspects sustained an injury above his eye, police say.

Police also say they found and seized evidence within the home.
