Vermont gas prices 80 cents lower than last year, Greensboro lowest in the state this week

NEWPORT — According to the latest GasBuddy survey, the average Vermont gasoline price was $1.95 per gallon as of Thursday. One year ago it was $2.75.

The lowest recorded price in Vermont this week was $1.45 in Greensboro.

Yesterday, the Troy Country Store offered the third-cheapest price per gallon in the state, at $1.67.

The Jay Country Store had the highest price statewide in the last 48 hours, at $2.89.

The average price per gallon in Orleans County is currently $1.91/g. In Essex County, it is $1.94.

The state of Vermont is ranked number 14 for the most expensive fuel prices in the country.

The national average price of gasoline has fallen 5.0 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $1.78/g.

The national average is down 33.1 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands at $1.06 per gallon lower than a year ago.
