NEWPORT — After 42 years of service, on March 31, Pam White retired from Columbia Forest Products.

Born in Newport, White graduated from L.R.U.H.S. and joined Columbia Forest Products on September 27, 1977, as a line grader.

She held the following positions: salvage clipper operator, unspliced grader, cutter-taper-piler and patcher.

She held the marker/breaker position for the last 19 years, up until her retirement.

White and her husband Randy live in Brownington.

She says her retirement plans are to spend more time with her grandchildren, visit her brother-in-law in North Carolina, and to go on another cruise.

She enjoys motorcycle riding with her husband, horseback riding, working in her flower beds, walking through the woods with her two dogs, hiking and snowshoeing.

During the summer, she looks forward to relaxing by her swimming pool.
