IRASBURG — Police are investigating the theft of a dog in Irasburg.

Sometime during the early morning hours on Tuesday, a 65-year-old woman had her beagle stolen from behind her home on Route 105.

According to police, the dog was hooked when the incident took place.

“Evidence at the scene indicates this was a theft and not a case of the dog getting off its leash,” Sgt. Sean Selby said.

The beagle was 10-years-old and his name is Jack.

According to a post on Facebook by one of the owners, there was a glove found by his dog house.

Police are asking anyone with information about the theft to contact the Vermont State Police.
