CHAMBERSBURG, PA — Police located a man reported missing in Chambersburg and determined he is safe.
The Chambersburg Police Department became aware of several posts on local Facebook groups reporting that a man named Shawn Gilbert was missing from eastern Pennsylvania but was last seen in Chambersburg.
The information was not reported to the Chambersburg Police Department, nor did another agency contact the department to request assistance with a possible missing person investigation.
On July 9, the Criminal Investigation Division contacted family members to confirm if a missing person report was made and to obtain additional facts and circumstances regarding Gilbert’s whereabouts.
Gilbert’s last known location was reported at the Sheetz on Monticello Court.
Approximately three hours into the investigation, representatives from the Criminal Investigation Division located Gilbert and determined that he is safe.
