PATTERSON, NY — A two-vehicle head-on collision on Lake Shore Drive resulted in a DWI arrest on July 3, 2026.
New York State Police were dispatched to the area of Lake Shore Drive and Camden Road at approximately 10:47 a.m. for a report of a motor vehicle collision with injuries.
The investigation determined that a 2011 Chevrolet, operated by Alfredo A. Martinez, 39, of Brewster, was traveling northbound on Lake Shore Drive when it crossed into the southbound lane and struck a 2021 Subaru head-on.
The Subaru was operated by Christopher Malizia, 45, of Brewster.
Martinez was not injured.
Malizia and his passenger were evaluated at the scene and released.
During the investigation, Martinez exhibited signs of intoxication.
Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered, after which he was taken into custody and transported to State Police Brewster for processing.
Martinez subsequently submitted to a chemical breath test, which yielded a blood alcohol content of 0.19 percent.
Martinez was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, and reckless driving, all unclassified misdemeanors, as well as numerous violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Martinez was issued an appearance ticket directing him to appear in the Town of Patterson Court on Aug. 5, 2026, at 5 p.m.
