Motorcyclist injured in crash on US Route 2 in Cabot

CABOT, VT — A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a pickup truck failed to yield while turning onto US Route 2 on July 5, 2026.

The crash occurred at approximately 4:22 p.m. when Glenn Towne, 76, of Duxbury, was turning left onto US Route 2 from the Marshfield Reservoir.

Colby Tetreault, 32, of Glover, was traveling east on a 2025 Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX when Towne’s 2018 Toyota Tundra entered the roadway in front of him.

The motorcycle crashed into the driver’s side of the pickup truck.

Tetreault was transported to Central Vermont Medical Center with suspected serious injuries.

Towne and his passenger, Resma Towne, 63, of Duxbury, were not injured.

Both occupants of the pickup truck were wearing seat belts.

The motorcycle was totaled, and the pickup truck sustained significant front-end damage.

US Route 2 was limited to one lane of travel for approximately one hour while Vermont State Police conducted their investigation.

Weather conditions were clear and the road was dry at the time of the crash.
