Driver cited for excessive speed in Williamstown

WILLIAMSTOWN, VT — A Rhode Island woman was cited for excessive speed after a trooper clocked her vehicle traveling 113 mph on Interstate 89 North.

Marie Etienne, 37, of Providence, was stopped at mile marker 43 on June 28, 2026, at 2:31 p.m. after a Vermont State Police trooper monitoring traffic observed her vehicle traveling in excess of the speed limit.

The trooper confirmed the vehicle’s speed at 113 mph using radar.

Etienne was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Orange Criminal Division, on June 28, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charge of excessive speed.

She was also issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint carrying a waiver amount of $710 and 2 points.
