BENTON BOROUGH, PA — A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after allegedly performing a burnout in front of a police officer investigating a reckless driving complaint.
Officer Guiney was in the area of Park Street on Jan. 18 when a male driver stopped to speak with him about the incident under investigation.
The driver became irritated during the conversation and performed a burnout with his truck while reversing on Park Street, according to police.
The man then exited his vehicle and approached Guiney.
A strong odor of intoxicants was detected coming from the man, police said.
The driver was taken into custody and transported to a DUI booking center, where he was found to be intoxicated.
Charges are pending for DUI and other traffic offenses.
