FAIRFIELD, CT — Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred during a Facebook Marketplace transaction on June 26, 2026.
Officers responded to the area of Jeniford Road at about 10 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery.
A Fairfield resident told police they had arranged to sell a MacBook through Facebook Marketplace.
During the transaction, the buyer allegedly displayed a handgun and fled with the laptop without paying.
Detectives have been assigned to the case.

Police are urging residents to use caution when buying or selling items through online marketplaces with individuals they do not know.
