ROTTERDAM, NY — Two people were stabbed at Memorial Park on Thursday evening in what police say was a targeted attack.

Members of the Rotterdam Police Department Patrol Division responded to the park on Curry Road at approximately 8:15 p.m. on June 25, 2026, for a reported disturbance.

Officers found two individuals suffering from apparent stab wounds upon arrival.

Officers immediately began rendering emergency medical aid until Rotterdam Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene.

Both victims were transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Members of the Rotterdam Police Detective Division responded to process evidence and conduct witness interviews.

Through the investigation, detectives developed a suspect and determined this was a directed act of violence where the victims and suspect were known to each other.

A disagreement among the individuals led to the assault, and this was not a random act at the park, police said.

With assistance from the Schenectady Police Department, the suspect was located at an unrelated location and detained without incident at approximately 9:05 p.m.

Blaise M. Harrington, 18, was arrested and charged with assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

The investigation remains active.
