JOHNSTOWN, PA — A man was sentenced to 10 to 20 years in state prison for shooting another man in the stomach last year.

Terrell Dykes, 34, received the statutory maximum sentence outside the standard guideline range on Wednesday from Judge Forrest B. Fordham III.

Detective Holliday of the Johnstown Police Department charged Dykes with aggravated assault and person not to possess a firearm stemming from a May 7, 2025, incident on Village Street in the Moxham neighborhood.

Dykes entered a guilty plea on April 1, admitting that he shot the victim in the stomach after confronting him on the sidewalk.

He also admitted he was in possession of a firearm when he was prohibited from doing so due to previous felony convictions.

Chief Deputy Warren L. Crilly III and Assistant District Attorney Lauren Kanavy prosecuted the case in conjunction with the Johnstown Police Department.
