CORTLANDVILLE, NY — A 51-year-old man faces drunken driving charges following a welfare check at a fast-food restaurant.
Robert A. Petrella II, of Cortlandville, was arrested June 16 and charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08% or more, both misdemeanors.
Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to Burger King at 1096 State Route 222 at approximately 10:01 p.m. for a welfare check.
The male operator had left the area before officers arrived.
Officers patrolled the area and located Petrella at approximately 10:26 p.m.
Officers determined Petrella was driving while intoxicated.
Petrella was arrested and transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
He was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Town of Cortlandville Court on June 29 at 2:30 p.m. for arraignment.
