Man arrested on stolen property charge in Mooers

MOOERS, NY — New York State Police arrested a man on charges of criminal possession of stolen property and criminal mischief on June 23, 2026.

Russell L. Dupee, 39, of Mooers, was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree.

Troopers responded to State Route 11 in the town of Mooers on May 21, 2026, at approximately 5:24 p.m. for a report of a stolen dark green 2015 Polaris Ranger UTV.

An investigation determined that Dupee was captured on surveillance video with the stolen UTV and spray-painting the UTV in an apparent attempt to conceal its identity.

The UTV was later located in a wooded area and had sustained damage.

Dupee was processed at SP Champlain.

He was arraigned in the Town of Mooers Court and released on his own recognizance.
