HOOKSETT, NH — A Hooksett man was arrested twice in three days on charges including driving as a habitual offender and drug possession.

Daniel Valentin, 45, of Hooksett, was first stopped on Monday for a littering violation on Londonderry Turnpike.

During the stop, he provided a false name to the officer, and his license was found to be revoked for being certified as a habitual offender.

Valentin was charged with operating while habitual offender, disobeying an officer, possession of a controlled drug, alcohol interlock ignition required and littering.

The officer located an additional controlled substance in the vehicle for which Valentin claimed to have a prescription.

The officer elected to delay criminal charges for that substance, provided that Valentin was able to produce a valid prescription.

Bail was set at $500 cash, which Valentin posted and he was subsequently released on bail.

On Thursday, officers were made aware that Valentin was in the lobby of the Hooksett Police Department to produce a prescription.

Shortly after meeting with the officer, Valentin was seen exiting the parking lot of the police department and driving north on Hooksett Road.

A check of Valentin’s license status showed that his license was still revoked due to being certified as a habitual offender.

A traffic stop was made and Valentin was again arrested.

The vehicle which he was driving was not equipped with an ignition interlock device and a search incident to arrest resulted in an additional suspected drug on his person.

Valentin was additionally charged with operating while habitual offender, possession of controlled drug, alcohol interlock ignition required and breach of bail.

He was held on preventative detention with an arraignment date of Friday at 8:15 a.m.
