NEW YORK MILLS, NY — New York State Police arrested two people June 23, 2026, in connection with the discovery of a deceased woman whose body had been concealed inside a residence.
Jaime L. Green, 53, of New York Mills, was charged with endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person in the first degree, a class E felony; endangering the welfare of a vulnerable elderly person in the first degree, a class D felony; concealment of a human corpse, a class E felony; and tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony.
Shannon J. McLennan, 49, of New York Mills, was charged with concealment of a human corpse, a class E felony, and tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony.
At approximately 11:24 a.m. June 23, 2026, state police were contacted by the New York Mills Police Department regarding a welfare check at a residence on New Hartford Street in the village.
Upon arrival, a deceased individual was discovered inside the residence.
State police responded and began an investigation, which determined the individual had been deceased for an extended period of time.
The deceased was identified as June C. Green, 84 at the time of her death, of New York Mills.
The investigation determined June Green had medical conditions and disabilities that prevented her from caring for herself.
Jaime Green was identified as her caretaker and resided at the residence with McLennan.
The investigation revealed June Green was deceased and remained inside the residence for an extended period of time before being discovered.
Investigators determined the death was not reported and actions were taken to conceal the deceased and tamper with evidence related to the investigation.
An autopsy is being conducted by the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause and manner of death.
Jaime Green and Shannon McLennan were transported to Oneida County CAP Court for arraignment.
