Driver dies after crash in Londonderry

LONDONDERRY, NH — New Hampshire State Police are investigating a fatal crash on Interstate 93.

At 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, state troopers assigned to the Troop B barracks received reports of a crash at the Route 102 overpass on I-93 northbound in Londonderry.

It was reported that a vehicle crashed into a bridge abutment and caught fire.

Upon arrival, troopers observed good Samaritans who had stopped to try to remove the driver from the vehicle, but were unsuccessful due to the severity of the crash and fire.

The good Samaritans also tried to extinguish the fire with fire extinguishers.

Members of the Londonderry Fire Department extinguished the fire and pronounced the driver deceased at the scene.

The name of the driver and vehicle information are being withheld pending positive identification and next of kin notification.

Multiple northbound lanes of I-93 were closed for approximately four hours while troopers and emergency personnel investigated the crash.

Troopers were assisted on scene by members of the Londonderry Fire Department, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, and the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
