WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A Hartford woman crashed her vehicle into a barber shop Monday night.
Elizabeth Echevarria, 50, of Hartford, was traveling northbound on Route 159 when she drove off the roadway and into Skip’s Barber Shop at 246 Main St. at 8:09 p.m. June 23.
The vehicle came to rest just inside the glass windows of the building.
Echevarria told police she lost control and struck the building.
She passed standardized field sobriety tests administered at the scene.
Echevarria refused medical attention and no other injuries were reported.
She was charged with failure to drive in the proper lane.
The Windsor Locks Fire Department and Building Department were contacted.
Upstairs apartments were evacuated.
The vehicle was towed and the owner was notified.
