PITTSBURG, NH — Two Quebec residents suffered serious injuries after a crash with a deer on Route 3 near the Canadian Port of Entry.

Just before 1 p.m. Monday, state troopers assigned to the Troop F barracks responded to a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a deer.

The preliminary investigation determined that a 2002 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide was traveling southbound on Route 3 when a deer entered the road, and a crash resulted.

The rider, an adult male, and the passenger, an adult female, both of Quebec, were thrown from the bike.

The rider and passenger, who were both wearing helmets, suffered serious injuries.

The passenger was transported to a local hospital, and the rider was flown by medical helicopter to a hospital in Maine.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by members of the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, Pittsburg Fire Department, and 45th Parallel EMS.

Route 3 was closed briefly while first responders worked at the scene.
