ONTARIO COUNTY, NY — Two motorcyclists were seriously injured after crashing into a sedan while fleeing from Yates County Sheriff’s deputies on June 20.
Deputies attempted to stop two motorcycles traveling northbound on State Route 14 in the Town of Torrey at 5:15 p.m.
Both motorcycles failed to stop and attempted to evade deputies.
As the pursuit entered Ontario County, the motorcycles collided with an uninvolved sedan traveling in the southbound lane near the Ontario County line.
The occupants of the sedan were not injured.
Both motorcyclists sustained serious injuries and were transported by helicopter to Strong Memorial Hospital.
Their injuries are believed to be serious but not life-threatening.
The motorcycle operators were identified as Trea Salisbury, 31, of Binghamton, and John A. Chordas Jr., 45, of Binghamton.
The Ontario County Crash Investigation Team responded to the scene and is assisting with the investigation.
Charges are pending completion of the investigation.
