House fire extinguished in Pleasantville

PLEASANTVILLE, NY — The Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire on Hays Hill Road early Thursday morning.

The department was dispatched at 3:25 a.m. to the reported fire.

Chief Martineau arrived minutes later and confirmed a working deck fire, requesting additional units.

Engine 91 arrived on scene and stretched a hose line to the rear of the structure and extinguished the fire.

The fire was contained to the deck with minor damage to the exterior of the house due to a rapid response.

Units operated for approximately one hour before returning to service.

Units on scene included Chief Martineau, Engine 91, Tower Ladder 5 and Rescue 47.
