Driver ejected in rollover crash in Keene

KEENE, NH — A single-vehicle rollover crash ejected an 18-year-old driver on Route 9 on Saturday morning.

Keene Police responded to Route 9, just east of the intersection with Route 10, at approximately 11:58 a.m. for the collision.

Emergency services found a 1997 Jeep Wrangler off the roadway with the driver ejected.

The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was identified as Carter Howard, 18, of Munsonville.

Howard was transported by Keene Fire Department ambulance to Cheshire Medical Center and then transferred by helicopter to Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Lebanon for advanced care of serious injuries sustained in the collision.

Route 9 was closed for approximately 3.5 hours for the investigation.

Preliminary evidence indicates that speed may have contributed to the incident.

The Keene Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Keene Fire Department and New Hampshire State Police Troop C.

The collision is being investigated by the Keene Police Department Collision Analysis Team.
