NORWALK, CT — A swatting call prompted police to respond to a Norwalk public school earlier today.

Officers checked and cleared the affected school and found no credible threat, according to the Norwalk Police Department.

The incident remains under active investigation.

Preliminary findings indicate no validity to the reported threat, police said.

The incident is consistent with several recent swatting calls reported throughout the area over the past week.

Out of an abundance of caution, the secure protocol was implemented across all schools in the district.

Officers were assigned to each school to provide a sense of safety and security.
