COBLESKILL, NY — State Police arrested a man on assault and weapons charges following an altercation on June 14, 2026.
Shaman Railine, 32, of Cobleskill, was charged with assault 2nd, a class D felony, criminal possession of a weapon 3rd, a class D felony, and reckless endangerment 2nd, a class A misdemeanor.
At about 8:15 p.m., troopers responded to the report of an altercation in the area of State Route 7 in Cobleskill.
The investigation determined Railine was involved in a verbal altercation with an individual known to him.
Prior to the altercation, Railine reportedly recklessly drove his vehicle nearly striking the victim, who was operating a motorcycle.
The victim pulled over, Railine followed them and continued the altercation.
During the argument, Railine allegedly discharged a pellet gun, intentionally striking the victim in the face and head, causing injuries, and then fled in his vehicle.
The victim was transported to Albany Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Railine was located at his home, where he was arrested and transported to SP Cobleskill for processing.
He was then transported to the Schoharie County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
