Two arrested after disturbance at beach in Webster

WEBSTER, MA — Two people were arrested Thursday afternoon after causing a disturbance at Memorial Beach.

Webster Police officers responded to the beach at approximately 3:52 p.m. for a report of several intoxicated individuals causing a disturbance by the lake.

When officers arrived, they observed open containers of alcohol and individuals consuming alcohol at picnic tables.

Officer Francheska Cedeno began speaking with a man and woman who were consuming alcohol.

The man, identified as Jonathan Boutilette, appeared to be intoxicated and continued causing a disturbance in front of officers.

Officers learned that Boutilette had tried to fight another man and was asked by several beachgoers, including an off-duty officer from another town, to lower his voice and stop creating a disturbance.

Boutilette continued to be disruptive in front of numerous families with young children, at which point Officer Cedeno placed him under arrest.

While continuing to investigate the incident, officers learned the woman consuming alcohol had provided a false name to Officer Cedeno.

Once officers learned her real name, Mary Madden, they discovered she had a warrant for her arrest.

Jonathan Boutilette, 34, of Dudley, was charged with possession of an open container of alcohol, disturbing the peace, subsequent offense, and disorderly conduct, subsequent offense.

Mary Madden, 43, of Worcester, was arrested on a warrant from Marlborough District Court for failure to appear.
