MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — A 19-year-old Newark man has been arrested in connection with an attempted home invasion that occurred in January.
Jahad S. Clark was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with attempted residential burglary, attempted motor vehicle burglary, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, possession of burglary tools, criminal mischief, employing the use of a juvenile in a crime, and conspiracy.
Morris Plains patrol officers responded to a residence at approximately 3:21 a.m. on Jan. 3 after receiving a report of attempted forced entry to a house.
The homeowner reported the incident before the suspects fled in a vehicle.
The Morris Plains Police Detective Bureau conducted an investigation and established a positive identification of the subjects involved with assistance from the Morris and Essex County Prosecutor’s Offices.
A juvenile has also been criminally charged in the incident.
Clark has been remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings pursuant to the Criminal Justice Reform Act.
