FAIRFIELD, NJ — A man was arrested on trespassing and resisting arrest charges at a Wawa on May 28, 2026.
Robert Gartside, 64, of Fairfield, was taken into custody at approximately 7:59 a.m. after an employee called police to report he was at the store.
Gartside had been previously trespassed from the business by both management and police following an incident that occurred the previous week, according to the Fairfield Police Department.
Officers located Gartside on the property, at which time he became combative as he was placed under arrest.
He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed.
Gartside was charged with trespassing and resisting arrest and later released pending an initial court appearance.
