NEWPORT, RI — A Texas man was arrested at a state park Tuesday morning on a fugitive warrant.
Christian Smith, 26, of Justin, Texas, was taken into custody at Fort Adams State Park at 10 a.m.
State police responded to the park after locating Smith on a cruise ship.
Smith was wanted by the Denton County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
He was transported to the Rhode Island State Police Wickford Barracks for processing.
Smith was arraigned by a justice of the peace and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institutions Men’s Intake Center.
