Juvenile arrested in South Boston lemonade stand robbery

BOSTON, MA — A 14-year-old male was arrested June 12, 2026, in connection with an armed robbery of a lemonade stand in South Boston.

The juvenile is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court on charges of armed robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm, both with two counts each.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:44 p.m. June 10, 2026, in the area of West Ninth Street in South Boston.

Officers responded to a radio call for an armed robbery and spoke to the victims, two children who had been operating a lemonade stand at the location.

The victims told police that unknown suspects made several passes by the stand before approaching and asking whether Apple Pay would be accepted as payment.

Before the victims could respond, the suspects grabbed a box containing U.S. currency.

One suspect then displayed a black firearm in his waistband before both individuals fled the area.

Detectives assigned to District C-6 made the arrest.

Police are actively seeking information regarding a second suspect.
