EARL TOWNSHIP, PA — A traffic stop for speeding led to the arrest of a motorist on drug and driving violations June 2.
Dequan William Gant, 32, of Pennsylvania, was arrested at 10:16 p.m. in the 900 block of West Main Street.
A West Earl Township Police officer conducting speed enforcement observed a white Kia Optima traveling 52 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour zone.
The officer initiated a traffic stop and identified Gant as the driver.
Investigation revealed Gant’s driving privileges had been suspended since March due to DUI.
The officer also found Gant in possession of marijuana.
Officer Reifsnyder filed charges before District Judge Jonathan Heisse for possession of marijuana, driving with suspended operating privileges due to DUI, and exceeding maximum speed limits.
