WATERBURY, VT — A 70-year-old man was cited for negligent operation after a Vermont State Police trooper clocked him driving more than 100 mph on Interstate 89 North.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:23 p.m. June 1, 2026, near mile marker 61.
A trooper traveling northbound on Interstate 89 observed a Porsche 911 traveling at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle’s speed was observed to be in excess of 100 mph in a posted 65 mph zone.
The vehicle was stopped and the operator was identified as Bruno Gubetta, 70, of Waterbury.
Gubetta was issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for speeding, a violation of Title 23 VSA 1004, which carries a penalty of 2 points and a $530 fine.
Gubetta was also issued a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court, Criminal Division, for negligent operation, a violation of Title 23 VSA 1091.
