TOWNSHEND, VT — Vermont State Police are investigating a two-vehicle head-on collision that sent three people to the hospital Thursday evening.
The crash occurred at approximately 7:06 p.m. on Vermont Route 30 near Dam Road.
Troopers responded to the scene along with Rescue Inc, Townshend Fire Department and UMASS Med-flight.
Police say Cole Eidson, 18, of Dorset, was traveling north on Route 30 in a 2025 Nissan Sentra when his vehicle crossed left of center and collided with a 2020 Kia Sportage.
The Kia was operated by Kelley Pluff, 62, of West Wardsboro.
Eidson sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center by UMASS Med-flight.
He was listed in stable condition later in the evening.
Pluff and her passenger, Emily Pluff, 26, were transported to Grace Cottage Hospital in Townshend with moderate injuries.
Both vehicles sustained substantial front-end damage.
Weather and road conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
